Clinical and research educators: One of my major interests in my academic career is to teach medical students, residents and fellows and encourage them in research. At present these are the following students, residents and fellows who are actively involved in my different research projects
Moses Googe, first year CHM student is actively involved in my TEE database and endovascular database. His effort resulted in creation of two abstracts that have been submitted in 2006 Annual International Stroke meeting.
John Steel MD, Ph. D., neurosurgery resident at Wayne State University, involved in my Aneurysm and Neuroform stent database. With my guidance he was able to submit two abstracts in 2006 Joint cerebrovascular section meeting, one of which he was the first author.
Joon-Shik Moon, MD., a third year resident at New Jersey Medical School, involved in my TEE database. Under my supervision Dr. Moon was able to produce five abstracts, two of which he is the lead author.
Vicki Gordon, RN, NP, a Ph. D student at Wayne Nursing School is actively involved in my endovascular, aneurysm and neuroform stent database. Her effort produced five abstracts and she was a co-author in those abstracts.
John Whapham, MD., a former Wayne State University Neurology resident and now a vascular fellow at MSU department of Neurology has been involved in my Aneurysm and Neuroform stent database since August 2004. Dr. Whapham’s efforts resulted in submitting two abstract in the 2006 annual American Academy of Neurology meeting.

Under my supervision Dr. Patel was able to produce two abstracts, two of which he is the lead author. Dr. Patel is currently working on project “Stent-assisted coiling of intracranial of intracranial ruptured aneurysm”.
Mohammed Rehman DO., a forth year resident at Henry Ford, Detroit, MI involved in intracranial stent database. Under my supervision Dr. Rehman was able to produce two abstracts, one of which he is the lead author in 2007. In 2008 while being a neurocritical care fellow at Upstate Medical University, Dr. Rehman was able to produce two abstracts which were presented in 6th annual Neurocritical Care meeting Miami, FL.

Ahmed El-Dokla MD., a third year neurology resident who is involved on a project “Outcome of the endovascular coiling of the anterior communication artery ruptured aneurysms compared with clipping of aneurysm”. Last year Dr. El-Dokla worked on a project that focused on the complication of brain tumor embolization.
Jesse Corry MD, an endovascular interventional fellow at Upstate Medical University worked under my direct supervision on a project “Repair of vertebral artery origin stenosis”, which resulted in a poster presentation at 6th annual neurocritical care meeting, Miami, FL
Ravi Patel MD, a vascular and endovascular fellow at Upstate Medical University has completed a project “Stent-assisted coiling of the ruptured intracranial aneurysm and outcome” the abstract has been submitted in 7th Neurocritical Care meeting in October 11-14, New Orleans, LA,and the manuscript is under review in Neurocritical care.
Veena Yashaswi MD, a second-year neurology resident has completed a project “Endovascular treatment of fusiform intracranial aneurysm using stent-a technical report” resulted an abstract which has been submitted in 7th Neurocritical Care meeting in October 11-14, New Orleans, LA.
John Cullen, a 4th year medical student at Upstate Medical University is currently involved with a project “AComA coiling of ruptured aneurysm compared with surgical clipping” and planning to publish our result in international stroke meeting.

Shon Michael, MD, a research fellow who worked under my direct supervision and completed two manuscripts “Revascularization of a Vertebro-Basilar Artery Using the Merci Device after Intra Operative Onyx occlusion”and “Trans-radial approach in the revascularization of intracranial stenosis using Gateway balloon and Wingspan stent” published in Neurocritical Care and Journal of Vascular and Interventional Neurology.
